Happiness

Recently, I have been engaging in various conversations about experiencing happiness. Each time the topic comes up, I listen intently to the comments and responses of those involved in the conversation. I have also pondered the question, "where does my joy, my happiness come from." I reminisced about times when I was at a low point in my life, when I was having a melancholy day, or when I woke up and it just felt like a great day; my joy and happiness always came from the same place, my communication with God and the hope I found in knowing and understanding the meaning of the scriptures. However, I chose to search the scriptures rather than share my opinion. Here are two scriptures that I found to be most comforting.

Psalms 34:8(AMPC)

O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

Proverbs 16:20 (AMPC)

He who deals wisely and heeds [God's] word and counsel shall find good, and whoever leans on, trusts in, and is confident in the Lord—happy, blessed, and fortunate is he.

A reward comes from knowing that the Lord has provided scriptures to address our daily cares. Are you looking to go deeper in your study of the Bible? Purchase Bible Basics 101.
